Sullivan and Bourbon Fire Departments were dispatched to assist Cuba on a residential first alarm, house fire, at 311 NE Main Street, which parallels the railroad tracks, just east of Wallis Oil`s Semi Truck parking lot. I drove up to photograph it and arrived in time to see some smoke still coming from the roof and front porch of the house. Cuba made a good knockdown of it, was well involved on their arrival…the front porch cover had collapsed and was hanging down on one corner by the carport when I got there…
Firefighters had removed their breathing packs and were inside doing mop up work…
…so I took a photo of Bourbon`s Pumper and an ice photo, and chatted with police and ems friends til they emerged from the home…
…all in all, despite some horrible weather conditions, a good save was made on the residence.
